Masada is one of Israel's most stunning archealolgical sites first as King Herod's palace-fortress and later as the site of the last stand of Jewish rebels against the legions of Rome, almost 2000 years ago.

The Dead Sea is the lowest point of dry land on Earth at 1,373 feet (420 meters) below sea level. It's called the Dead Sea because virtually nothing can live in it due to it's high concentration of salt; approximately 32%. The water is almost 9 times saltier than the ocean.
