This is the 1st of 11 Galleries that contains photos of our 12 day vacation to Egypt from November 17th through November 29th, 2010. I took almost 700 photos but the following Galleries include only a selection of photos from each day of the trip (hey - one picture of a camel looks pretty much like all the others so I decided to spare you the repetitiveness of multiple photos of the same thing!!).
Day 1 is actually the 2nd day of the trip. We arrived the evening before after a 12 hr flight from Washington, DC connecting through Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris to Cairo Egypt. By the time we got checked in at the Oberi Mena House Hotel in Giza, our first layover, it was pretty late so there was no opportunity for picture taking.
Day 1 for us was also a day before the official start of our tour so we spent it just relaxing around the hotel before taking a stroll to see the Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu). The stroll was literally that as the pyramid and it's companion pyramids were only about a 1/4 mile or so from our hotel!!
